These watercolours were all made during the first lockdown in 2020. Everything paused and silenced and our daily rituals suddenly became minutely detailed. With the studio closed I worked at the kitchen table, painting while my toddler napped – a meditation on the quality of light, colours and forms found in nature nearby.
Fiona Chambers lives in Bellingham and has a studio in Catford. She studied BA Painting in the National College of Art, Dublin (2006) and completed her MA Fine Art in Chelsea College of Art and Design (2011). She is currently taking part in the Turps Banana Correspondence Course (2020-21). She has exhibited internationally and throughout Ireland and the UK, and her work is held by the Office of Public Works in Dublin and numerous private collections.
